A car (Latin: mobilis - mobile) is a non-rail vehicle propelled by an engine. Intended for passenger and cargo transportation. In 1751-1752, a farmer of Nizhny Novgorod province (Russia) Leontiy Shamshurenkov built a "self-propelled carriage" that was propelled by two people's legs. I. P. Kulibin proposed several important mechanisms, a gearbox. After the invention of the steam engine, inventors tried to use it in a mechanical carriage. In 1769-1770, French military engineer N. J. Cunot built a 3-wheeled steam carriage for artillery cannons. In England, in 1802, Trevitnik built A. with a steam engine. In 1830, the Russian craftsman K. Yankevich proposed to install more than 100 gas pipe steam boilers made of iron on steam cars. Many experiments have also been conducted with electric motor cars that work from the battery. After the invention of the internal combustion engine, automobiles began to be developed regularly. Many inventors from different countries worked on installing gasoline and kerosene-powered engines in cars.

In 1885-1886, in Germany, Daimler installed a gasoline-powered engine on a motorcycle, and Benz on three-wheeled vehicles. Solid rubber tires were used instead of iron wheels, and pneumatic rubber tires began to be used in 1890. Automotive industry first developed in France, then in the USA, Germany and Japan. After gaining independence, Uzbekistan joined the ranks of countries with a developed automobile industry. Since 1996, the joint venture "OzDAEWOO Avto" established in Asaka (Andijan region) in cooperation with DAEWOO Corporation of South Korea has been producing "Neksiya", "Damas" and "Tiko" passenger cars. Uzbek-Turkish joint venture "SamKochAvto", launched in Samarkand in 1999, produces M23.9, M24.9, M29 buses and various trucks of 35.9, 65.9, 80.12, 85.12, 85.14 models (see Automobile industry). Vehicle types include transport, special, and racing. Transport vehicles are divided into passenger cars, buses and trucks. Special vehicles are designed for specific tasks and equipped with appropriate equipment.
