The adit mine at Hinterschlagen has closed and dismantling was taking place, with long rows of wagons standing in the old yard. The adit at Schmitzberg is still in use, which supplies the remaining traffic for the standard gauge However the whole place looks very run-down, and its future does not look too secure.

These three locos were in the open front of the loco shed, and may have been used for dismantling work. A lot more Ruhrthaler 0-4-0D's and 0-6-0D's could be seen locked inside the main part of the shed.

Lenzing AG., Lenzing
There has been plans for diesels to replace the fireless locos, but these have been shelved, due to the current business recession. The company looked at more fireless locos from Eastern Germany, but these are all 12 bar pressure locos. The Lenzing locos are the “Gilli-lok” 20 bar, high-pressure type, which they need to handle the heavy workload here. Specially built 20 bar locos would be much too expensive, and getting spares for the existing locos is an increasing problem.
