Introduction
Networks are created to provide a means to satisfy an objective or need.
These objectives and needs are frequently critical, therefore the network
itself is critical.
Definition and importance of networks.
A computer network is a system of computers and computing devices that
are connected via communication links. These links allow the computers
and other devices to send information over the network.

WANs
Wireless Networks
Local networks within a
limited area.
Local Area Network (LAN) can be defined as a
collection of computers and peripherals
interconnected within a limited geographical area.
This area may be one building or one campus
within a few kilometers.
Examples: Home, office
networks.
A home network is a collection of devices such
as computers, printers, and mobile devices that
are connected to each other within a
household.
An office network is a system of
interconnected computers, printers, and other
devices within an office environment.
LANs.
Wide networks connecting
over long distances.
WANs are often used by large businesses to
connect their office networks; each office typically
has its own local area network, or LAN, and these
LANs connect via a WAN.
Examples: Internet,
corporate networks.

organization to facilitate communication and
data sharing among employees.
WANs
Utilizing wireless
technology.
Wireless technology refers to the communication
of data without the use of physical connections
such as cables or wires. It includes various types of
wireless communication technologies, such as Wi-
Fi, Bluetooth, cellular networks, and satellite
communication.
Examples: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,
cellular networks.
