In general, cotton is of the horned and hornless (zero) type. From
the buds in the axils of the stalks of horned cotton, the horn grows and
develops
. In this case, the first 2‒3 leaf axils do not sprout during the
dormant period. In some cases, these little evergreens are super-easy to
grow and will look good with almost no care. Cotton has a growing horn
(monopodium) and a fruiting horn (sympodium). The growing branch
grows mainly from the lower part of the stem, the fruiting branch from
the upper part of the growing branch, and the next leaf of the main stem
from the leaf axils. As the growing branch grows from the main stem, it
has spirally arranged leaves, just like the main stem. Secondary branches
may also emerge from the leaf axils of the growing branch, but the first
2-3 leaf axils do not protrude like the main stem, but remain dormant.
After that, a few leaf axils give rise to the growing branches, and the
next to the fruit branches. The tip of the growing branch ends with a
growth bud and a leaf, and no twisted leaves are visible inside the bud.
Thus, the development of the growth branch is similar to the develop-
ment of the main stem. This is because the fact that cotton is a growth

organ does not make any difference between the main stem and the
growing branches’ need for nature.

In general, the presence of large, short, elongated, and extrayiel-
ding cotton branches can vary depending on soil fertility, the agro-tech-
nology used, and the weather. The more fertile the soil, the more scienti-
fically based agrotechnology is used, the better the weather (with mode-
rate heat and light), the more cotton buds sprout and the more nutrients
there are.
