    KERANGKA KELAYAKAN MALAYSIA

    TK6123 Senibina Sistem Komputer / Computer System Architecture
    Sinopsis

    Senibina komputer adalah merujuk kepada: (a) kaedah-kaedah operasi perkakasan; (b) perkhidmatan yang disediakan oleh sistem pengoperasian; (c) pengambilan, pemprosesan, penyimpanan dan pengeluaran (output) data; dan (d) interaksi antara komputer. Pemahaman dalam senibina komputer memungkinkan pelajar untuk seiring mengikuti arus perubahan teknologi komputer serta berkeyakinan dan berminat menerokai bidang berkaitan penggunaan aplikasi komputer. Topik yang akan dibincangkan dalam kursus ini merangkumi gambaran keseluruhan sistem komputer, data dalam komputer, prestasi komputer, CPU, ingatan, input/output, peralatan komputer, sistem pengendalian, bahasa perhimpunan, kumpulan arahan-arahan, dan rekabentuk logik digital.




    Hasil Pembelajaran


    Di akhir kursus ini pelajar mampu:

    • Memahami perwakilan data dalam sebuah komputer.

    • Mengenalpasti operasi, organisasi, set suruhan, dan komponen-komponen elektronik dalam komputer.

    • Memahami perbezaan-perbezaan dalam senibina komputer yang muncul daripada pelbagai rekabentuk serta timbal-balik diantara prestasi dan kapasiti sistem kesan daripada rekabentuk tersebut.

    • Mengenalpasti peranan sistem pengoperasian dalam sebuah komputer dan meneroka komponen-komponen, antaramuka pengguna dan asas-asas rekabentuk dalaman untuk sistem pengoperasian.


    Synopsis
    Computer architecture is concerned with: (a) the operational methods of the hardware; (b) the services provided by operating system software; (c) the acquisition, processing, storage, and output of data; and (d) the interaction between computers. An understanding of computer architecture makes us possible to “ride the wave” of technology change, secure in the feeling that we are equipped to deal with the development as they occur, and to have fun doing so. Topics covered in this course include an overview of computer system, data in the computer, computer performance, CPU, memory, input/output, computer peripherals, operating system, assembly language level, instructions set architecture level, micro-architecture level and digital logic level.


    Learning Outcome (CO)


    At the end of the course, students should be able to:

    • Understand the representation of data in a computer.

    • Understand the operation, organisation, instruction set and electronic components of a simple computer.

    • Understand the variations in computer architecture that arises from different system designs, and the tradeoffs in performance and capability that result.

    • Understand the role of operating system software in a computer system, and to explore the components and fundamentals of internal design for operating systems.
