Students are given the vocabulary list in advance so they can review on their own; however, for many, this will be their first time encountering the words.
Using the Smart Board, pull up Vocabulary.com and show students the list. As a class, try to answer the multiple choice questions. Make sure students know the correct pronunciation of each word.
The class will look at root words, prefixes, and suffixes to decode the words. Students will take notes for their practice.
