Bog'liq {teacherscom library} EFL Grade 8 TBAmber:
Interesting … Any other ideas?
John:
Hmmm. I like the idea of writing about
Horrible
Histories.
Amber:
What’s that?
John:
You don’t know? It’s a programme about history. It
tells stories of events in history but in a funny way.
I love it!
Amber:
Do you know any history vocabulary in French?
John:
I do! And I love reading about history – in French
and in English!
Amber:
You love telling funny stories, too!
John:
Good point! I do! Right. That’s it ... I’m going to
write about
Horrible Histories
!
Amber:
Good luck!
Unit 19, Student’s Book page 112
You will hear a teacher telling students about a school trip.
Teacher:
OK everyone, please listen carefully. I want to
tell you about the end-of-term school trip. This
year we’re going to an activity centre called
Tall Trees. It’s in the middle of a forest, and it’s
really beautiful. Look it up online this evening!
You can do all sorts of amazing activities there
– sailing, swimming, cooking outside and lots
of other things. We’re going on the 25
th
of July,
next Friday, until Monday the 28
th
of July. Please
remember you have to give me £200 by Monday
the 21
st
of July.
On Friday, the bus leaves at 8.30. But everyone
has to be at school at eight o’clock. Before we
leave, Mr Peters has to check your names and
put the suitcases into the bus.
Now, every year, students ask me ‘Do we have
to wear our uniform on the journey?’ And the
answer is, yes, you do! This is because on the
way we are going to stop at a few places: first a
museum, and then an aquarium.
You don’t have to bring anything to eat on the
journey. We’re going to bring food for all of you.
But don’t forget a drink, that’s important!
The next question is always – ‘What do I have to
pack?’ Well, of course swimming things for all
the activities on water, such as canoeing and
sailing. And for the nature walks, trainers and
old trousers. But don’t bring jeans – they’re not
comfortable when they get wet. Oh and don’t
forget the disco on the last night. You have to
wear smart clothes!
OK, any more questions?
