    Brainstorm a list of places as a class first, then 
    students choose three and think about where they are, 
    what you can do there, and why they are interesting.

    Encourage the students to use the paragraph about 
    London as a model for their own writing. Stronger students 
    should also look at the longer article about Edinburgh 
    again for useful expressions and ideas for their own 
    writing. Remind them to use

    places in the town. Each team reads out their description 
    and the others have to guess where they are. Award 
    one point for a correct guess and two points for a good 
    description.

    Compound nouns
    In English, it’s possible to make new words 
    by putting two words together: 
    bus
    +

    . These are called compound nouns. 
    Sometimes they are written as one word and 
    sometimes as two. Do you do this in your 
    language too?
