Installing Dial-Up Networking on Windows ME
From your desktop double-click My Computer then look for Dial-Up Networking. If the Dial-Up Networking icon cannot be found then do the following:

Double-click My Computer, Control Panel; double click Add/Remove Programs
Click on Windows Setup and check the communications component then click the Details button
Check the Dial-Up Networking component and click OK and OK then click Yes
Creating your Dial-Up Connection
You will be prompted to supply the Windows ME CD as all necessary files will be copied to your disk to complete the installation. Windows will then restart
Creating a Dial-Up Connection
Double click My Computer, double click Control Panel,
then double click Dial-Up Networking
Double click Make New Connection and type in IConnection then click next
Supply the Dial-Up Server telephone number leaving blank the Area Code field. Be sure to select the correct country code and click next then finish
Your connection has now been created – we will now proceed to configuring your Dial-Up Connection
Configuring your Dial-Up Connection
From your desktop double click My Computer, double click Control Panel, double click Dial-Up Networking
Find your newly created connection and right click on it and select Properties. Verify that Use area code is not selected and that the I-Connection Dial-Up Server number has migrated.
At the top click the Networking Tab and verify that the Type of Dial-Up Server is:
PPP, Internet Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME
Advanced Options: Enable software compression is checked
Verify that Allowed network protocols only TCP/IP is checked,
Now click the TCP/IP button to continue to the next step
Here you will verify that Server assigned IP address is selected
Then verify that Server assigned name server address is selected
Now verify that Use IP header compression is checked and Use default gateway on remote network is also checked – then click OK and OK.
You are now ready to connect to the iConnection server
Connecting to iConnection for the first time
If your connection icon is not on your desktop then double click My Computer, double click Control Panel and double click Dial-Up Networking to find the connection icon
Double click your connection icon and supply your username and password supplied by the iConnection helpdesk personal. Be sure to enable save password at your discretion and click connect
A dialing status windows will appear then password verification will follow
Once you are connected to iConnection a connection status icon will appear at the bottom right of your screen
If you wish to abort your connection, then simply right click on the connection status icon and select Disconnect.
