Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) algorithm:
This algorithm
involves decomposing road profile data into intrinsic mode functions using the
EMD method. EMD may be used to identify the dominant frequencies and
modes of the road profile, which can help identify defects such as dents and
cracks. These algorithms can be used individually or together to accurately
identify defective sections of highways using Fourier series analysis[1].
Fig.1. The disorders of the way
By analyzing the Fourier coefficients, it is possible to determine the
frequency composition of the signal and determine the presence of specific
frequencies and their relative amplitudes. This information may be used to
perform various signal-processing tasks such as filtering, compression, and
noise reduction[2].
We will look at the creation of a Discrete Fourier Transform 3D graph of
a defective road image using the ImageJ program. As input, we take an image of
an arbitrary defective path (Fig. 1)
Start the Process menu from the ImageJ program menu, select the Fast
Fourier Transform (FFT) menu, this results in the following Fourier
representation of the image.
