UPDATED SURVEY ON HAND-HELD DATA CAPTURE DEVICES
Document prepared by the Office of the Union
1 The Technical Working Party on Automation and Computer Programs (TWC), at its thirtieth session, held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, from June 26 to 29, 2012, noted the information provided in document TWC/30/34 “Updated Survey on Hand Held Data Capture Devices”. It recommended that the information should be revised on the basis of a new circular to be issued by the Office of the Union inviting further entries in advance of the thirty‑first session of the TWC (see document TWC/30/41, “Report”, paragraph 81).
2 The Technical Committee (TC), at its forty-ninth session, held in Geneva, from March 18 to 20, 2013, agreed to request the Office of Union to issue a new circular concerning hand held data capture devices, inviting further entries in advance of the thirty-first session of the TWC (see document TC/49/41 “Report on Conclusions”, paragraph 17).
3 On March 27, 2013, the Office of the Union issued circular E_13/109 requesting updates on hand held data capture devices. The Annex to this document contains the information submitted in the replies to that circular.
4 The TWC is invited to:
note the information provided in Annex to this document; and
consider whether a new circular should be issued by the Office of the Union inviting further entries in advance of the thirty-second session of the TWC.
