    1. Officer elections

Members of the SBC interested in candidacy for officer positions had previously expressed interest through filling out a spreadsheet. Alex gave other members the opportunity to express interest in an officer role, and no additional interest was expressed. All positions had one candidate and thus were uncontested. A vote was taken (Enid motions, Alan seconds) and new officers were elected as follows:

    Chair: Ken Carlson

    Vice Chair: Tegin Teich

    Secretary: Charlie Denison

Change in office to take effect in May to provide a 3 month transition period.

    • Status of co-signed Mystic crossing request letter to EEA and Gaming (Alan)

The SBC had previously drafted and sent a letter to the Gaming Commission asking that a pedestrian and bicycle bridge be required to be built as part of the Wynn casino being developed in Everett. The committee considered what should be submitted as part of the MEPA review currently underway. Steve Winslow (Bike to the Sea group) has drafted a letter asking for the $250K currently being provided for bike infrastructure to be increased to $1M, and used to design (not build) an entire bicycle and pedestrian network surrounding along the Mystic River. Discussion about whether the SBC should join in signing this letter instead of or in addition to the letter regarding the bridge ensued. Vote: 8 in favor, 1 abstention on sending letter regarding bridge. Vote: all in favor of signing onto Steve Winslow’s letter, pending distribution of final draft through email and final approval by chair and vice chair.
