A lot of people have become dependent on technology as it plays a big role in our daily lives. Do you agree that living in computer age has more advantages than disadvantages?

It is true that we are living in technologically advanced (ilg’or/rivojlangan) era and contemporary=modern=cutting-edge gadgets (zamonaviy qurilmalar) such as computers, mobile phones and home appliances have already become an integral(ajralmas-muhim) part of our life. However, while there are undoubtedly numerous merits of living in a computer age, including (o’z ichiga oladi) creating connectivity and convenience, we should not also ignore (e’tiborsiz qoldirmoq) its demerits. In this essay, I will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of technology and draw my conclusion.
Let’s start by looking at the positive sides of modern technology. One of the advantages of modern advancements in technology is it revolutionized=developed=enhanced the way we communicate. To be more exact, regardless of distance people can keep in touch with their friends, family and colleagues by the help of social media, messaging apps and videos conferencing tools. A good example of this would be=for example during the covid-19, when educational and work places were closed and people used distance learning and working to stay connected. Moreover, it also should be said that computers and latest advancements, especially the Internet have made our lives more convenient and efficient. People can be online anywhere at any time and access to a huge source information. They can do shopping, order takeaway meals and even book their ticket by just sitting in their comfort home.
Turning to the other side of the argument, addiction to the technology is a major problem. In other words, people tend to spend a huge amount time on social media, video games and other online activities and as a result it may lead to passive lifestyle and isolation from the public. For instance, according to recent studies=statistics by American scientists, people who spend excessive=too much amount of time on the Internet tend to have a sedimentary lifestyle and often they suffer from various illnesses like obesity and depression. Furthermore, the more people use the Internet, the more information they share and this rises the concerns about data privacy and security. Cyber criminals and fraudster might use it for bad purposes and consequently ordinary people might become victim of online frauds.
In conclusion, even though living in computer age offers a number of upsides, it also has some downsides such as becoming dependent on technology and the risk of cyberattacks. From my perspective, I am of the belief that the pros of contemporary technology outweigh its cons.
