Software gateway for the efficient connection of OPC clients and web browsers to LON networks.
The LON OPC and web server provides a connection between LON networks and OPC clients and/or web browsers. The software runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. For operation a free USB interface is required for the dongle.
The interfacing to LON networks is realized on the base of LNS version 3.0, LNS TE or higher. The LON OPC and web server alternatively works as local LNS client, as remote lightweight client or as remote fullweight client. OPC items are provided for network variables, structure elements, configuration properties, states of devices and routers. The access to data points is carried out by bound monitoring (via host bindings) or periodic or on demand polling. Each instance/license of the LON OPC and web server allows the connection to one LNS project database. Up to 20 LNS project databases can be connected on a single PC. The LNS runtime environment is not part of the LON OPC and web server and has to be installed on the target system.
The LON OPC and web server is certified by the OPC foundation according to OPC DA 1.0, 2.05A and 3.0. Any OPC client is supported. The server is configurable by standard DCOM settings. Access and user rights are provided by standard Windows mechanisms. A distributed application within a computer network (OPC client and server are running on different PCs) is assured by the support of DCOM functionality.
The LON OPC and web server has a user interface for configuration and data point settings. The user interface and documentation support English and German language.
