    Abstract: Geoinformatics, the interdisciplinary field integrating geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial analysis, plays a pivotal role in addressing various socio-economic and environmental challenges globally. This is at the intersection of geography, information science, and technology, has garnered significant attention from researchers worldwide due to its diverse applications across various domains. In Uzbekistan, a country known for its diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage, geoinformatics is actively striving to advance sustainable development and improve resource management. This scientific article explores the challenges, main trends, and future prospects of geoinformatics in Uzbekistan, shedding light on the opportunities and barriers facing the field.

    INTRODUCTION
    Uzbekistan, situated at the crossroads of Central Asia, boasts a landscape marked by mountains, deserts, and fertile valleys, presenting a myriad of opportunities and challenges for geoinformatics applications. However, despite its potential, the field encounters several impediments hindering its widespread adoption and effectiveness. This article delves into the challenges confronting geoinformatics in Uzbekistan and identifies key trends shaping its trajectory.
    Challenges:
    Data Accessibility and Quality: Uzbekistan faces limitations in accessing up-to-date and accurate spatial data, hampering informed decision-making processes across sectors. While efforts have been made to digitize maps and collect geospatial information, discrepancies in data quality and availability persist, posing a significant challenge to effective geoinformatics applications.
    Capacity Building and Expertise: The shortage of skilled professionals proficient in GIS, remote sensing technologies, and spatial analysis is a critical impediment to the advancement of geoinformatics in Uzbekistan.     Digital Transformation and Innovation: Uzbekistan is witnessing a burgeoning wave of digital transformation efforts, with geoinformatics playing a pivotal role in modernizing governance, agriculture, urban planning, and disaster management sectors. Innovations such as open data platforms, spatial analytics, and decision support systems are driving transformative change and facilitating evidence-based policymaking.
    Precision Agriculture: Geoinformatics holds immense potential in optimizing agricultural practices through precision agriculture techniques. From crop monitoring and yield prediction to water resource management and soil mapping, spatial data analytics empower farmers to make informed decisions, enhance productivity, and ensure food security amidst evolving environmental challenges.
    Environmental Monitoring and Management: Remote sensing technologies and GIS facilitate comprehensive environmental monitoring and management initiatives in Uzbekistan.
