    Manual Removal


    The following instructions are provided solely for emergency use if some configuration changes cannot be removed using the proscribed process as described in the main Instructions document.

    It is NOT recommended that this add-in and/or its configuration be removed manually, if necessary though, removal should be done in the following order and in the following locations:



    Note: All of these instructions must be carried out while logged in to ones Windows Home Server, either with Remote Desktop or physically with a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

    IIS


    1. Select Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager

    2. Expand server name (server by default)

    3. Expand Web Sites

    4. Expand Default Web Site

    5. Right click on created virtual directory name (default is WebFoldersShare)

    6. Select Delete

    7. Click Yes button to confirmation prompt

    8. Close Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager window

    DFS


    1. Select Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Distributed File System

    2. Right click on Distributed File System and select Show Root

    3. Type in \\localhost and click OK

    4. Right click on new item titled \\servername\WebFolders4WHSSHare and select Delete Root

    5. Click OK to confirmation prompt

    6. Close Distributed File System window

    DFS Service


    1. Select Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Services

    2. Scroll down to and double click on Distributed File System

    3. Click Stop Button

    4. Change Startup type to Manual

    5. Click OK button

    6. Close Services window

    Windows Share


    1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\

    2. Right click on WebFolders4WHSShare folder and select Properties

    3. Select Sharing tab

    4. Select Do not share this folder

    5. Click OK button

      1. If prompted, click yes to prompt that other users are connected and if you proceed they will be disconnected.

    6. Manually delete the following files/folders in C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\ if present

      1. WebFolders4WHSShare

      2. WebDav Install Scripts

      3. HomeServerConsoleTab.WebFolders4WHS.dll

    WebDav


    1. Select Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs

    2. Select Add/Remove Windows Components

    3. Double click on Application Server

    4. Double click on Internet Information Services (IIS)

    5. Scroll down to and then double click on World Wide Web Service

    6. Uncheck WebDAV Publishing

    7. Click OK until you have returned to the Windows Components Wizard menu

    8. Click Next button

    9. Click Finish button

    10. Close Add or Remove Programs window

    Registry


    1. Select Start -> Run

    2. Type regedit and hit click OK button

    3. Navigate to and expand My Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Brendan Grant\

    4. If WebFolders4WHS is the only registry key (folder) underneath the Brendan Grant key:

      1. Right click on Brendan Grant key and select Delete

      2. Click Yes button to deletion confirmation

    5. If WebFolders4WHS is the only registry key (folder) underneath the Brendan Grant key:

      1. Right click on WebFolders4WHS key and select Delete

      2. Click Yes button to deletion confirmation

    All configuration settings for Web Folders 4 WHS and installed files have now been removed
