Abstract: This article is about the advantages and disadvantages of learning
foreign languages through online platforms. Based on scientific data, the author
analyzed the problem on the basis of existing literature and studied the specific
aspects of learning foreign languages through online platforms.
Keywords:
Foreign language, media, internet, platform, student.
A foreign language is a subject that, due to its uniqueness (creating an artificial
language environment for students due to the absence of a natural language),
includes the most flexible and extensive use of various technical teaching tools.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the new
opportunities provided by
multimedia tools have found wide applications in foreign language teaching.
Of course, multimedia tools play the main role here. But first of all, I would like
to say a few words about simple multimedia documents and presentations
(Power Point) that the teacher can prepare in Microsoft Word. They are easy to
implement and apply, but they play a big role in making the lesson more active
and emotionally impacting the students.
The advantage of Word documents is their relatively
small size and ease of
creation. The teacher can develop them for specific situations, topics and groups
with an infinite variety of options. At the same time, such documents do not lose
the advantages of multimedia: they are bright, colorful, allow students to work
individually and expand work opportunities.
For example, the electronic version of the test allows students to move objects in
the document, place them in the right places, delete them, group them according
to
the task, insert the necessary items, etc.
Unfortunately, only a few computer science teachers can boast of programming
skills; teachers of other subjects often have computers at the average amateur
user level. However, some simple tricks allow us to introduce elements of self-
control here, in, say, a validation test. For example, students
are given a test with
blank spaces or tables where they have to write their answers. The completed
