STUDIES AND EDUCATION

My interest for translation job started when I attended the high school; later on I attended the faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures in the University of Milan, where I obtained the specialization in three foreign languages: English, German and Spanish. I’ve taken the degree with the grade 102/110.

I had a master’s degree in translation. My languages of specialization, which are also the languages I work with, were English and German.

TRAVELS AND EXPERIENCES

I’ve been living in the US for six years (1999 – 2005), precisely in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. There I began to work as a translator, consolidating my position through the years and starting to work in all respects as a freelancer in 2005, after the University degree. While there I worked in Random House, the biggest publishing house of the United States and I cooperated (and still I do) with Presbyterian Hospital of New York, for the translation of case files, medical reports, medicine articles and pamphlets, medicine manuals intended for international meetings.

Fields of specialization are : plastic surgery, cardiology, obstetrics and orthopedic surgery.

I took the European Computer Driving Licence, during my studies at University: I’m able to use the operative system WINDOWS XP, the office package (word, excel, PowerPoint) but also Photoshop, Adobe Pagemaker, Internet, e-mails. I have the ADSL connection 24h/24h.

I use CAT TOOLS for my translations: SDL TRADOS 2009 and WORDFAST.
