The endpoint property store serves as the communication mechanism between the UI and the LFX and GFX sAPOs. Because the user can change settings at any time, GFX and LFX sAPOs should register for change notifications on any audio endpoint property that holds one of their settings.
During initialization, the sAPO’s Initialize method receives interface pointers that provide access to the endpoint property store. Several categories of settings in the endpoint property store could be of interest:
Common properties: well-known Microsoft-defined metadata such as headphones, microphone arrays, or geometry.
Custom properties: IHV-defined metadata that further characterize the endpoint.
Custom system effect properties: IHV-defined metadata that characterize the sAPOs.
