    With a

mixed ability class, pair up a stronger student with
a weaker one. Ask the stronger student to help the weaker
student to complete the article before they listen again.
Then, after listening, they compare their answers and the
stronger student helps their partner again.

    SPEAKING

In pairs, ask the students to write notes for each point
about their own perfect school. If they are slow to start,
brainstorm some possible answers onto the board.

Organise the students into groups of four. Each pair
should give a short presentation of their school using
the notes they made in Exercise 1. Encourage the pair
who are listening to think of at least two questions they
would like to ask about the school at the end of their
presentation. If necessary, demonstrate this activity by
inviting a stronger pair to come to the front and present
their perfect school. When they have finished, ask them
two appropriate questions about their presentation, e.g.
Do the students have to do exams? Why do they have to do
    PE?

    COOLER
In small groups, the students design a perfect school
timetable. They should include times of the classes, the
names of the subjects and the break times.
