Internet Explorer Settings for STARS
Internet Options
General - Tab Settings
# Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer (IE).
# From the General tab, click Settings under the Tabs section.
# Ensure that the Always Open Pop-ups in a new window is selected. Click OK to return to Internet Options.
Security - Tab Settings
Security - Trusted Sites
# From the Security Tab, select Trusted Sites and click on Sites.
# Add the name of the STARS Enterprise Server as a Trusted Site (see following examples) ensuring that the 'Require Server Verification (https) for all sites in this zone' option is NOT selected. Click the "Close" button once complete.
#* IP address format http://99.99.0.999 (example: 10.15.2.47)
#* US ASP hosted clients:

Note: If the address is http, uncheck the checkbox marked Require server verification ( https: ) for all sites in this zone; otherwise, leave it checked.
Security - Custom Level Setting for Internet and Trusted Sites
Please note, you must apply the Custom Level Setting changes to BOTH the Internet zone and Trusted Sites zone. These Custom Level Setting changes as outlined below MUST be applied to both zones regardless of IE version. These settings are required for both zones across all IE versions.
# Remaining on the Security tab, select Custom Level.
# Ensure that the custom setting is set to Medium (default) as shown below. If not, then select Medium (default) and click Reset.
# Next, scroll down to the ActiveX Controls and Plugins section. Enable the following settings: Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prompt and Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls.
# Then, scroll down to the Downloads section. Enable the Automatic prompting for file downloads setting.
# Lastly, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section. Enable the Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars.
# Now that you have configured the settings above, click the OK button
# Click the Yes button for the "Warning! Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" popup

Repeat the exact same steps outlined above to change settings for the Internet zone

After configuring the settings above for the Internet zone, click the OK button.

Click the OK button to close Internet Options
*Note: The new level setting for Trusted sites and Internet is now set to Custom

Close and restart Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer Settings for IE8 and IE9
In addition to the "Internet Explorer Settings" (outlined above), the following settings should be configured for workstations with IE8 or IE9.
General - Tab Settings
1. Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer (IE).
2. From the General tab, click uncheck 'Delete temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords, and web form information' under the Browsing History section.

Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer (IE).

Click on the Security tab and then click the Custom Level button.

Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section and Enable Display mixed content setting.

Now that you have configured the setting, click the OK button.

Click the Yes button for the "Warning! Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" popup

Click the OK button to close Internet Options.
*Note: The new level setting for the Trusted sites is now set to Custom

Close and restart Internet Explorer.
Advanced - Tab Settings

Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu in Internet Explorer (IE).

Click on the Advanced tab, scroll down to the HTTP 1.1 settings section and ensure that Use HTTP 1.1 box is checked. (Check the box if it is not already checked, then click the 'Apply' button and then select 'OK' to save the changes.)
