Attachments are documents, images, figures, and other files that you can attach to your e-mail messages. To attach a file to a message, click the Insert tab and then click the Attach File button in the Include group, locate the file or document you want to attach in the Insert File dialog box, and then click the Insert button.
When you receive an attachment, you can preview it without opening it by clicking Outlook’s Reading Pane. You can also open the message than contains the attachment and then click the attachment or you can open the attachment by double-clicking it in the Reading Pane or the Message List. To save an attachment, you can right-click the attachment that you want to save in the open or previewed message, click Save As on the shortcut menu, select a location, and then click Save. You can remove an attachment by right-clicking the attachment, and then clicking Remove on the shortcut menu.
A possible risk of opening an attachment is that it might contain a virus.
