5 SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The aim of this section is to provide an understanding of how the VoIPv6 System will operate and what the system will be capable off. It tries to achieve this by first giving a brief overview of how the program will function in terms of the user’s perspective, and then looks at the systems internals in a little more detail.
5.1 The Program from the Users Perspective
The overall original aim of the VoIPv6 application was to allow two users using Pocket PC devices linked to an IP network to place a voice call between the two machines. This sub section shows how the system will function from the user’s perspective giving no details of how the internals will operate.
The single application should handle both incoming and outgoing calls. As long as the application is executing and no calls are taking place, incoming callers from other systems should be capable of dialling into the application and a call takes place, similarly the user should also be capable of placing a call if a call is not taking place to another system.
A relatively simple interface has been designed so it is hassle free and simple for a user with little computer and telephone experience to use.
