1000.002 Servers – Web/Application Servers
Definition:

Application\Web\Reporting Server - A server on the network that hosts applications (client – server or web based).
Data Partition – Partition containing any applications or files other than the operating system.

Approved Standard(s):

All Web/Application Servers should be virtualized using CHFS Server Virtualization Standard. Below are specifications for virtual guest servers.

Standard Web Server:

1 CPU
2-GB Memory
30-GB Operating System partition
10-GB Data partition
1 network port

Enhanced Web Server:

2 CPU
4-GB Memory
30-GB Operating System partition
20-GB Data partition
2 network ports

Note: If performance or compatibility testing indicates that physical servers are required, supporting documentation must be provided.

VMWare

Microsoft Windows 2008 Server R2

Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)

Exceptions:

Any exceptions to this standard must follow the procedures established in CHFS IT Policy #070.203.
