If you feel I am your child, I’ll be the happiest
I’ll be flying like the horse Girot, the fastest,
I’ll be a soldier for the hero Alpomish brave,
In the country Chambil, for defense I’ll crave,
King Ulugbek’s son murdered him for crown,
I’d hug to rescue him from his knife on my own,
You are the saliva’, my dear motherland.
In this poem by Uzbek poet Muhammad Yusuf we can see that linguaculturemas are
translated into English with a help of definition, but not literally translated: Some
advices on direct translation:
G’irot – horse g’irot, the fastest;
Chambil
– country Chambil;
Alpomish
– hero Alpomish;
Ulug’bek – King Ulugbek
If those words have translated literally, English readers would not understand points
from them.
According to the analysis we have focused out in our article, we can conclude that
translation of poetry is not easy work. It demands great skill and love to poems.
Thus, we suggest that translators should translate poetry works if only they have
love or talant of reading and writing poems. One should try to create the same
rhythm with the original one. Well appropriated rhyme can make translation
translator’s own work and gives it melody. Translator should not damage the
meaning of the originality in order to reach rhyme appropriacy, they should follow
the structure and be careful with linguaculturemas.
