THE MAIN POINTS IN DIRECT TRANSLATION OF POETRY

Annotation:
This article deals with issues of main points as content, rhyme, rhythm, structure and
others in direct translation of poetry. In
the first part of the article, scientific
approaches and definitions of famous scholars concerning the translation methods
of poetry highlighted, and the second part includes analysis on correspondence of
content and rhyme in direct poetry translation.
Key words: poetry, communicative value, content, rhyme, translation methods.

“As it is known for everybody, scientist analyses, writer describes, actor creates a
character. And what does a translator do? It is obvious that translator translates.
Despite of being an owner of great skill, knowledge and talent, in his intelligence
was gathered all analyzing, and describe, as well as create character, to get mood
born, and even special quality of “capability of reading”. Translator is a person that
contains in himself both writer and criticizer, actor and artist, and even scientist. It
means, translator analyses words as a philologist, get a character of personages as
an actor and at the same time he retains his own identity, searches for alive
image
and soul of author among the “lifeless” text. To sum up, translator does not chase in
words, oppositely, he searches for meaning, melody, rh
ythm, color…

As it seen by words of famous Uzbek translator, founder of Uzbek translation school
Gaybulla Salomov, translation is not simple work, oppositely,
it is a gift from
heaven. If the word goes on poetry translation, especially direct translation, it is more
complicated even for a master of the translation sphere. If so, why it is such an
important to translate directly while there are
several colorful methods of
