It’s easy to add one of the many programs available for Windows Mobile 5.0 to your device. You can do this by downloading files from your Internet Explorer Mobile browser, running executable applications you’ve received in e-mail, or installing applications from your PC while your device is synchronized. As with any PC application, do not install new applications if you are not certain of what they do or where they came from.
If you choose to download a file using the browser or install an attached application sent in e-mail, ensure the file is for Windows Mobile 5.0 and that the file name ends in .cab. Once downloaded and selected, CAB files will automatically install themselves.
To download an application or file from the Internet, select Start > Internet Explorer. Go to the page that contains the program you’d like to save. Select the file, and select Save As. In the Name box, enter a name for the file.
Do either of the following:

In the Folder list, select the folder in which you’d like to save the file.

In the Location list, select where you’d like to store the program: Main memory or Storage card. Select OK.
If you’ve purchased an application or downloaded freeware for your Windows Mobile-based device to your PC, installation will take place through ActiveSync. Make sure your device is synchronized, then run the application or CD accordingly. An installation wizard will pop up and guide you through the process. You may be prompted for additional steps to complete the installation, and you will be asked if you would like to install the application to your device’s main memory or to a storage card (should it have one).
