PHILOLOGY

INTERACTIVE TEACHING METHODS AND STRATEGIES
Taleha Ahmadova
English-language instructor
of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University,
Azerbaijan, Baku

ABSTRACT
In this article the strategies of teaching a foreign language, the method of teaching a foreign language, including the
method of studying the activities of teachers and students, are all covered. It discusses many modern techniques and
how they are used.

Keywords:
methodology, innovation, foreign language, communication, skills, competence, didactics.
If, in the past, teaching a foreign language was
seen as the study of that language system, then in the
years to come, the main goal was for students to im-
prove their foreign language speaking. Changes in the
fields of science, psychology, and societal social
growth are all directly tied to it. For instance: Take the
audiolingual approach. Changes in the field of linguis-
tics, namely structural flow, had an impact on the de-
velopment of this methodology. It entails the following
elements:

Teaching oral speech is the initial step in teach-
ing a foreign language;

Language acquisition is based on different
speech patterns and structures;

Exercises also call for language-based activities
that demand repeated exposure to language material;
The findings of comparing the native language
with the target language should determine the choice of
grammatical patterns and lexis.
A lot of concentration is needed for pronunciation.
The majority of the exercises are mechanical, whereas
there are few exercises that actually include speech
which is the fundamental drawback of this approach.
Scientists from the Methodist Church named Ch. Friz
and R. Ladolar invented this technique. For instance:
According to Ch. Friz, studying structures should be
the beginning stage's main focus. It would be ideal if
this served as the foundation for developing grammar
skills as well. Learning a second language is a complex
educational experience, and as part of it, a person goes
through significant psychological changes. The process
of comparing the native language with a foreign lan-
guage takes place in particular. Various technologies and
educational strategies are applied in this process.
Teaching by contrasting the foreign language with the
mother tongue produces effective outcomes when done
with the aid of contemporary pedagogical technologies.
Understanding a foreign language's technique is neces-
sary for teaching it. Technology and methodology are
critical components of the language learning process.
Modern interactive approaches for teaching foreign
languages have been developed by scientists and have
been shown to be more successful than conventional
methods.
Compared to traditional approaches, interactive
methods significantly boost the learning capacity of the
educational process. Since the learner thinks inde-
pendently and collaborates with the teacher in interac-
tive approaches.
When a foreign language is taught using contem-
porary technology, the student designs the lesson's
flow, builds lessons around his own curriculum, selects
teaching strategies in collaboration with the teacher,
and takes part in discussions on the course material.
The students support one another in this. The term "in-
teractive" approaches in the field of education is fre-
quently used in pedagogical literature during the turn
of the twenty-first and the dawn of the twenty-first cen-
tury. Let's attempt to elucidate this phrase's meaning.
The word "inter" is used to mean extremely. Interactive
refers to a highly engaged learning process. The quick
and effective results of this group of techniques guar-
antee students' independent thought, creativity, and
motivation in learning the core concepts of the subject.
It is a key component in molding students as unique
individuals, enhancing their personal skills, and insuring
their creative independence because of its effectiveness,
which is higher than that of more conventional ap-
proaches including interactive teaching techniques,
explanation, guiding, and tool use. Each teacher offers
a lesson that all pupils learn as intended thanks to
interactive learning technologies.
This series of strategies ensures students' autonomous
thought, inventiveness, and motivation in learning the
subject's fundamental ideas thanks to their quick and
successful results. Because of its effectiveness, which
is greater than that of more traditional approaches like
interactive teaching techniques, explanation, guiding,
and tool use, it is essential to shaping students into dis-
tinctive individuals, enhancing their personal skills,
and ensuring their creative independence. Through the
use of interactive learning tools, any teacher may deliver
a lesson that all students understand as intended.
There are numerous varieties of interactive exercises
that are produced in accordance with the features of the
lesson topic and the planned aims.
The students must meet a number of requirements
in order to be prepared to take part in the interactive

training, including mastering the knowledge needed for
active participation, readiness for communication,
working in mutual cooperation, independent thinking,
own opinion, free expression, and advocacy skills,
among others. A prerequisite is the efficient use of
training time. To do this, it is essential to properly
choose and prepare the required equipment as well as
to specify the trainers' roles and responsibilities in detail.
When deciding on lesson design and delivery strategies,
teachers should analyze the specific distinctions between
interactive methods and traditional teaching methods,
as well as their advantages and disadvantages relative
to one another. must be accounted for. The best way to
teach new information, build skills, reinforce existing
knowledge, repeat it during training, and take into con-
sideration the peculiarities of the subject is interactive. or
the appropriate use of alternative techniques is anticipat-
ed. The utilization of carefully curated methodologies
will guarantee engaging and productive training.
The extensive usage of interactive teaching techniques
in the educational process defines the current stage of
educational technology development.
The homogeneity of the teaching technology that
has been in use for a long time, the teacher's dominance
over the learning process, and the teacher's attempt to
introduce the subject to the student at a level that is
ready and acceptable even without excessive observation
decrease student activity and hinder their capacity for
creative thought. had started to prevent it from forming.
The adoption of interactive teaching techniques
that help students learn to read and acquire knowledge
has grown as a result. In conclusion, a teacher who
strives to deliver an excellent lesson will only succeed
if he expertly employs interactive teaching techniques.
