Task 1. Study the grammar material.
There are many modal verbs in English, e.g. can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should and must (See table 5).
We use modal verbs in questions, mostly when asking about possibility, uncertainty or permission. All modal verbs are followed by a main verb (V1).
When we are making a question with modal verbs, we put the modal verb before the subject (See table 6):
Question sentence: Affirmative sentence: Should we wait? We should wait.

The negative word NOT should be used after the modal verb for making negative questions with modal verbs:
Modal + NOT + Subject + Main Verb + ….
Shouldn’t we wait for him? Couldn’t you do your task later? Can’t you be relatives?
(generally short form is used as an answer )
