Network topology defines the connectivity of the network and not the scale of
the network. It is possible to distinguish several
topologies used in the
construction of local computer networks. In general, topologies are divided into
physical and logical types.
Physical topology is the geometry of interconnection of devices in the
network, i.e. the property of connection from a physical point of view. Logical
topology determines the nature of
data exchange in the network, or in other
words, determines the direction of data flow in the network.
