Transfer of regulatory functions
By a circular dated 26.9.1995, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Bangladesh announces the following:
“Under the latest legislation on telecommunications in Bangladesh (June, 1995), regulatory functions have been transferred from the sole state-owned telecommunications service provider, the Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board (BTTB), to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. The current status of BTTB is that of a public sector operator in a deregulated, open and competitive environment.
In view of the above, it is requested that all correspondence (including letters, circulars, schedules, resolutions and training & fellowship, sponsorships, etc.) be henceforth sent directly to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
