Tasks to invent sentences based on a set pattern or set conditions in the study
of grammar develop students' ability to use consciously and creatively
independently of existing theoretical knowledge. For example, "Think of a
sentence in which the adjective used in the adjective serves as a determiner",
"Think of a sentence with a participle with a case identifier", "Think of a sentence
of ten words so that the number of parts of speech is three", "Make a sentence , let
there be six diamonds in it "," think of a sentence involving eight commas ", and so
on.
It is also possible to ask students to invent wrong words in order to increase
their interest. In this case, of course, the amount of errors must be clearly
indicated.For example, "Think of ten examples of verbs of mental activity and
write them with five errors." When students have completed the task, they
exchange their notebooks with their partners and find five errors. In this way,
students not only strengthen their grammatical knowledge on the topic, but also
their knowledge of written literacy.
In conclusion, from the above considerations, the value of any knowledge is
determined by its usefulness. Dry memorized knowledge without any internal
motives is doomed to disappear without a trace from memories. The knowledge
gained as a result of the student's inner need and hard work as a result of creative
research helps him to think independently to develop his abilities.
