Obseg osvežitvenega usposabljanja določi letalska šila – ATO, za vsak primer posebej, pri čemer se upoštevajo sledeči dejavniki:
|
The amount of refresher training needed should be determined on a case-by-case basis by the ATO, taking into account the following factors:
|
(1) Izkušnje kandidata; Ta dejavnik letalska šola – ATO upošteva s pregledom letalske knjižice kandidata in če je potrebno z izvedbo kontrolnega leta;
(2) Kompleksnost helikopterja in
(3) Čas poteka veljavnosti ratinga; Obseg potrebnega usposabljanja, da bi se dosegla ustrezna raven strokovnosti, ki se zahteva za varno upravljanje zrakoplovov, se povečuje s daljšanjem časa poteka veljavnosti ratinga.

(1) the experience of the applicant. To determine this, the ATO should evaluate the pilot’s log book, and, if necessary, conduct a test;
(2) the complexity of the helicopter;
(3) the amount of time lapsed since the expiry of the validity period of the rating. The amount of training needed to reach the desired level of proficiency should increase with the time lapsed. In some cases, after evaluating the pilot, and when the time lapsed is very limited (less than 3 months), the ATO may even determine that no further refresher training is necessary.

Pri določanju potrebnega usposabljanja kandidata je potrebno upoštevati sledeče postavke:
|
When determining the needs of the pilot, the following items can be taken into consideration:
|
(1) čas poteka veljavnosti ratinga je krajši od treh mesecev: ni zahtev po osvežitvenem usposabljanju.
(2) čas poteka veljavnosti ratinga je daljši od treh mesecev in krajši od enega leta: potrebna sta najmanj dva šolska poleta.
(3) čas poteka veljavnosti ratinga je daljši od enega in krajši od treh let: potrebni so najmanj trije šolski poleti, v katerih morajo biti zajete vsebine, ki pokrivajo izvajanje postopkov pri okvarah najpomembnejših sistemov zrakoplova.
(4) čas poteka veljavnosti ratinga je daljši od treh let: kandidat mora ponovno opraviti usposabljanje za izdajo prvega ali dodatnega ratinga za tipa helikopterja, če ima kandidat veljaven ustrezen rating.

(1) expiry shorter than 3 months: no supplementary requirements;
(2) expiry longer than 3 months but shorter than 1 year: a minimum of two training sessions;
(3) expiry longer than 1 year but shorter than 3 years: a minimum of three training sessions in which the most important malfunctions in the available systems are covered;
(4) expiry longer than 3 years: the applicant should again undergo the training required for the initial issue of the rating or, the training required for the ‘additional type issue’, according to other valid ratings held.
