Adaptive learning is a system of technologies that constantly analyzes the educational results
of
the student, takes into account his characteristics and adapts the educational program, and
sometimes the teaching method [1]
.
AI can be used to develop intelligent tutoring systems that
provide personalized instruction to learners. These systems use techniques like machine learning
and natural language processing to analyze a learner's abilities, track their progress, and deliver
adaptive feedback and guidance [2, 3].
Adaptive learning promotes the development of important skills such as self-organization,
analytical thinking and independent decision-making [4]. Through
active interaction with the
material and constant analysis of their progress, the student can effectively use their strengths and
overcome their weaknesses [5].
AI can power adaptive learning platforms that customize instructional content based on a
learner's individual needs and preferences. These systems analyze learner data, such as
performance on assessments and previous interactions, to generate personalized learning paths
and recommend appropriate resources [6]. AI-powered virtual assistants and chatbots can provide
on-demand support to learners by answering their questions, assisting with problem-solving, and
offering personalized guidance. They can also simulate conversations
and interactions to create
more engaging learning experiences [7, 8].
Key features of adaptive learning include:
1. Individual approach: each student is provided with a personalized education in accordance
with his level of knowledge, skills and learning characteristics.
2. Variety of Materials: Adaptive learning programs offer a wide range of materials and
resources so that each student can find the learning methods that work best for them.
3. Instant Feedback: Adaptive learning systems provide instant feedback and advice to
students, helping them improve their skills and learn materials more effectively.
4. Flexibility and independence: Adaptive educational programs
allow students to study
materials at their own pace and time, as well as choose the order in which they study materials.
5. Progress tracking: Adaptive learning is based on continuous analysis of student progress
data, which allows us to identify his weak areas and offer appropriate assistance.
6. Individualized error correction: Adaptive systems can provide additional practice or
explanation if a student makes mistakes or has difficulty with certain material.
7. Data Monitoring and Analysis: Adaptive systems collect and analyze data on everyone's
progress, allowing teachers and curriculum to customize and optimize learning.
In our opinion, adaptive learning helps achieve the following educational goals:
1.
Reducing the cost of educational expenses.
2.
Formation of a personal training program.
3.
Make the learning process simple and flexible.
4.
Improving the effectiveness of education.
5.
High involvement in the educational process.
6.
Predicting learning strategies based on big data analysis.
It is important to note that adaptive learning is not limited to traditional lessons. Modern
technologies make it possible to create interactive online courses where the material is adapted to
the student’s level. This approach allows you to learn new topics at
your own pace and receive
instant feedback.
