Annotation. This article explores the importance of developing cross-cultural
competencies in the field of hospitality and their impact on service efficiency. The
authors of the article highlight the relevance of this topic in the light of the growing
intercultural communication and the increasing tourist flow, which requires special
skills and adaptation to various cultural contexts. The article discusses the key skills
necessary for successful interaction with guests from different cultures. They include
a deep understanding of cultural characteristics, the ability to communicate
effectively in different languages, flexibility and the ability to adapt to different
behavioral norms and expectations. The authors propose a number of methods and
strategies for the development of cross-cultural competencies among the staff of the
hotel industry. They recommend conducting cross-cultural trainings and seminars
based on practical situations, simulations and role-playing games. The article also
emphasizes the importance of cultural awareness and staff training in the main
aspects of cultural nuances of different countries. The article draws attention to the
importance of the development of cross-cultural competencies in the field of
hospitality and their impact on the quality of service. It is of practical value for
managers and employees of hotel enterprises, helping them to better understand and
meet the needs of guests from different cultural environments, thereby creating a
more pleasant and comfortable stay for guests.
