Known Issues with the v3.0 KX Printing System

    1. In Windows 2000, upgrading the KX driver to version 3.0 using the Server Properties upgrade method is no longer supported because driver file names change between versions.

    2. All Operating Systems. Because driver names are no longer tagged with the driver version, different versions of the KX Driver for the same model printer cannot co-exist on the same operating system.

    3. Updating the KX Printing System in Windows NT4 requires the user to use the SETUP.EXE method to install the updated driver

    4. When the printer driver is upgrade in all Operating systems, the driver files from the older version remain in the Windows System folder. To delete the older files after upgrade to version 3.0.XXXX, use the Deleter Utility in the \Utility\Driver Utility\Printer Deleter folder on the Software Library CDROM.

    General Known Issues

    1. Issue: A printer driver upgrade from the Print user interface (UI) may not succeed and may not generate any error messages on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer that is running the Security Rollup Package (SRP) that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q299444. When this occurs, the upgrade seems to complete successfully, but the latest drivers for the printer are not installed and you do not receive any error messages.

Work Around: A supported fix is available. GO to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326248 and follow the instructions in the Knowledge Base Article for contacting Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix.

    1. Issue: When printing from Adobe Acrobat 6.0 to a printer that supports KPDL Level 2, images are partially printed and the images and test is printed at the wrong density level.
