Outlook 2000 also makes it easier for Internet mail users to easily manage multiple POP3 or IMAP4 accounts. On a per-message basis, users can choose to send mail from any of their accounts even if mail is being delivered to only one account. Users also can designate replies and forwards to be sent from the same account as the original message.

Automatic Formatting helps users more easily manage and organize their Inbox messages. With the Organize tool in Outlook 2000, users can easily create rules to highlight and differentiate important items automatically using multiple colors and fonts. For example, users can designate that all incoming mail sent directly to them appears in green, while mail only copied to them appears in blue. Users can color-code mail sent or received based on any criteria.
