Symantec WinFax Starter Edition is integrated with Outlook 2000 to provide enhanced fax features that make it easy for users to send and receive faxes from within Outlook using an e-mail-like interface. Outgoing faxes are copied to the user’s sent items folder for record keeping, and incoming faxes are moved to the user’s Inbox and optionally processed by the Rules Wizard in Outlook. Users can easily transmit faxes to a contact in the Contacts list by automatically dialing any of the fax numbers for the Contact. When sending a fax, the user can choose from multiple cover pages. File attachments can be sent with an outgoing fax (.doc, .xls and .htm file formats are supported), and the attached files will be included as pages in the fax transmission. In addition, a fax printer driver is included, so users can “print” faxes from any Microsoft Windows-based application. The enhanced fax features are available only when Outlook is installed for use with an Internet mail provider.
