ishlatilgan, chunki u juda yaxshi elektrokimyoviy xususiyatlarga ega. Biroq,
Platina noyob tuproq
metali bo'lib, undan foydalanish fotoelementni juda qimmatga baholanishiga sabab bo’ladi,
shuningdek platinani yotqizish uchun murakkab asboblar yoki yuqori haroratli jarayon talab qilinadi,
bu esa DSSClarning umumiy narxini oshiradi. Yuqori xarajat va tanqislik tufayli nodir metallaridan
foydalanmaslik chorasini ko’rish kerak va ularni osonlik bilan sotib olinadigan va arzon elektro-
katalitik materiallar bilan almashtirish kerak, ular DSSClarda shunga o'xshash triiodidni kamaytirish
kinetik tezligiga ega bo'lishi kerak.. DSSC-lardagi qurilma materiallari uchun yuqorida aytib o'tilgan
omillarga asoslanib, turli tadqiqot guruhlari turli xil narsalarni o'rgandilar.
Bo'yoqqa sezgir bo'lgan odatiy quyosh xujayralarining
sxematik diagrammasi, ularning
tarmoqli joylashishi va ishlash mexanizmi.
