ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR CONTROLLING AND STABILIZING POWER GRID FREQUENCY

Abstract. An essential function of power systems operation is balancing the supply and
demand of electricity. In order to maximize system management and balancing, we must have a
firm grasp of how developing power imbalances appear in the grid frequency's variations from its
reference. But still, it might be difficult to comprehend grid frequency differences due to diversity.
The interplaying elements influence the frequency, which range from volatile renewable energy to
the predictable effects of trading electricity. Here, explainable machine learning is used to separate
various impacts the stability of frequency. Gradient boosted tree training we are able to accurately
forecast frequency control and stability. Stimulation by techno-economic characteristics. Analyzing
the model we uncover and contrast using Shapely Additive Explanations (SHAP). Factors influencing
frequency stability and hazards in the main European power networks.
