MATERIALS AND METHODS
I think that every person who is interested in books must have read “Oliver Twist”
in addition to “Tom Sawyer” as a child. In addition to its great educational value,
the novel seeks answers to many questions that people think about. “Oliver Twist”
is the second and in my opinion, the most famous novel by the great English writer
Charles Dickens. Dickens was the first in English literature to choose a young boy
as the main character. The work was published in Bentley’s Miscellancy from
February 1837 to March 1839, with illustrations by George Cruikshank. It was also
published as a separate book in October 1838.
The plot of “Oliver Twist” is
structured in such a way that the focus of attention of the readers is a young boy who
has to face the reality of real life. He was an orphan from the first moments of his
life. Oliver grew up not only deprived of good living conditions, but also very lonely
and helpless against an unfair fate. In the novel, Charles Dickens describes the
criminal society of London in a simple way. This society was considered an integral
part of the life of the capital. The writer tries to convey to the reader the main idea
that children’s souls are not prone to crimes, and he succeeds. Because children
reflect spiritual purity, the author believes. They were simply victims of time and
society. The main part of “Oliver Twist” is dedicated to this idea.
“Oliver Twist” is the most famous novel of the great Dickens. The story of an
orphaned boy walking in the slums of London. Situations in the fate of the little hero,
many meetings on his way, difficult and dangerous adventures. The social novel is
a reflection of
today’s pressing problems. That is why this work is still very popular
among readers and has become a folk book.
Phrasal expressions are groups of words that take on a special meaning. This

communicate something and they are part of a sentence. Phrases give more
information about what the sentence is about. According to the Oxford dictionary, a
