FROM THE HISTORY OF IRRIGATION OF SHAHRISABZ AND ITS ENVIRONS

Annotation: In this article, the hydrography, hydrology, irrigation condition of the
Shahrisabz valley (Shahrisabz, Kitab, Yakkabog', Chirakchi hills) located in the middle part of
the Bukhara Emirate in the second half of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century
and the adjacent lands are discussed. the processes related to the state of your work are
analyzed. Also, the mountains around Shakhrisabz and glaciers on their peaks, rivers and
streams formed from rain and spring water, their starting points, their confluence, in a certain
area, i.e. Issues such as the change of names at the point of joining, passing through mountain
gorges, when moving from one location to another, dividing into rms, to what extent it
participates in the irrigation process, water volume, and flow speed are analyzed based on the
sources. The abundance of water in Shahrisabz and its adjacent lands, the implementation of
irrigation processes without major difficulties, the abundance of various agricultural products,
the incomes of Shahrisabz and Kitab begs, the amount of khiroj and zakat, the weight of
Shahrisabz soil compared to that of Bukhara, always The reasons for harvesting and
transporting wheat to Bukhara and Khiva, the water shortage in the western part of Shahrisabz,
adjacent to Chirakchi, were comparatively analyzed based on historical sources and information
from the literature.
