experience shows, often in practice the personal characteristics of students are not taken into
account; in many cases there is no differentiated training that would take into account the
abilities of each student.
Each student entering a university has a different level of preparedness and attitude
towards studying and accepts the theoretical and practical material of the course being studied
differently. The individual typological characteristics of students may vary, so some learn the
proposed material better than others.
The credit system for preparing students is an educational system aimed at increasing the
level of self-education and creative mastery of knowledge based on individualization, selectivity
of the educational trajectory within the framework of regulation of the educational process and
accounting for the volume of knowledge in the form of loans.
The concept of “credit,” according to the Bologna process, means a quantitative
characteristic that allows us to take into account the contribution of each academic discipline to
the content of students’ educational and professional training. The term “module” in relation to
higher education implies a documented completed part of the educational and professional
program of each academic discipline.
The purpose of introducing a credit system for training students is to integrate the higher
education system into the global educational system, to create conditions that meet international
standards of the educational process in accordance with society's requirements for high-profile
specialists. The objectives of the credit system for training students at a university include:
- bringing the volume of knowledge to uniformity; - creation of conditions for
individualization of student training;
- strengthening the role and effectiveness of students’ independent work when studying at
a university.
There are characteristic features for the credit education system:
- the credit system is a way of organizing the educational process in which students have
the opportunity to individually plan the sequence of the educational process;
- introduction of a credit system to assess the labor costs of students and teachers in each
discipline; - time for studying the discipline is carried out on the basis of State educational
standards and curricula;
- students freely choose disciplines from among the elective disciplines that are included in
the working curriculum when drawing up an individual curriculum, as well as the teacher;
- students directly participate in the formation of their individual curriculum;
- advisors, assist students in choosing an educational process;
- The university has broad powers in organizing the educational process, in determining and
taking into account the types of workload of teachers;
- the educational process is provided with the necessary educational and educational
complexes in printed and electronic forms;
- when assessing students' educational achievements, a modular rating system is used for
each academic discipline.
