3.3 Data Collection Methods
Taking into account the important aspects of information in determining the strategy
of textile business development in Uzbekistan and the branding approach for
sustainable growth, their effectiveness was also taken into account. For this, primary
and secondary data were used, and secondary sources and information in this
process were used as scientific articles, manuscripts and books of Uzbek and
foreign authors. The purpose of using primary and secondary sources is to collect
additional information from them to analyze the process during the research
process. In addition, political and official pages of the Republic of Uzbekistan were
used as a secondary source for research. Also, if we consider the data collected
from primary sources, that is the data collected as a result of research carried out
by the researcher, the main factor is the uniqueness of these sources and it should

also be recognized that primary data is primary. data is unpublished and more
reliable and objective. The main purpose of primary data is to determine the nature
of the research based on these factors, as well as to answer the questions raised in
it. Therefore, the data was divided into two different types through quantitative data
collection method or qualitative data collection methods.
A face-to-face interview was used to collect the data and the process was conducted
in a semi-structured manner. Conducted conversationally with one respondent at a
time, the semi-structured interview (SSI) employs a blend of closed- and open-
ended questions, often accompanied by follow-up why or how questions (Adams,
2015, p. 492-505). Because this situation gives some freedom in the conversation
process. Apart from that semi-structured interviews are conducted as a natural
conversation (Duranti, 2011, p. 35). As an example, if the questions were unclear
during the interview, I could ask additional questions or change the structure of the
question again. The second priority is that it allowed me to get almost all the answers
that I was interested in and related to the field on interesting situations that arose
during the interview. Of course, all these processes greatly influenced the collection
of information that would be necessary during the interview. Interviewees were
notified of the interview process three days in advance by e-mail, and as a reminder,
they were notified by phone one day prior to the interview. Given that the
interviewees were working in a senior position, the date of the interview was fixed
according to their alternative time.
Open-ended questions for the Sami structured interview process were planned in
advance and divided into sections according to the level of difficulty. First, it started
with basic simple questions to get comfortable with the respondent. The reason for
this is that the interlocutor concentrates on the questions asked in the field and
moves to a more difficult type of questions. In the next section, the questions were
asked on complex and basic research questions, and at the last stage, the
interviews were completed with questions on an easier level without tiring the
interviewer. The total number of pre-arranged questions for the interview process
was 10, and additional questions were asked in some cases during the interview
process (Table 1). The interview process lasted 10-15 minutes on average, and for
convenience, respondents were interviewed in their preferred language. Interviews

were held in Uzbek and English. During the interview, records and notes were taken
to prepare a transcription report. During the interview process, all respondents were
asked for permission to record, but not all of them gave permission, and for this
reason, noteworthy aspects of the interview process were noted.
