I endeavored to report a truthful and thorough account of the participant’s lived
experiences as told to me by them. I made every effort to use their own words directly as they
spoke them to me during the interviews. I conducted member checks with all participants to
ensure my writing was faithful to their words and meanings and
verify my report of their
accounts is credible and accurately reflects their lived experiences. Throughout the process, I
have questioned my own ontological and epistemological assumptions to not introduce my
opinions, biases, and judgements (Bogdan & Biklen, 2007) into this reporting of their
experiences in HyFlex learning.
Dependability
I used the same interview protocol and format for all participants. Every participant was
asked the exact same
questions, and the only deviations that happened took place in the form of
follow-up questions specific to each participant’s responses to the previous question. Following
this protocol with all the participants helped establish a degree of dependability
or reliability for
other researchers wishing to replicate this study (Creswell, 2007).
