The development of the oil industry in Uzbekistan began in 1885. In 1900, it was extracted from two wells near the village of Chimion in the Fergana Valley. The main exploration works in this area began in 1904, and oil was extracted from a depth of more than 270 m under strong pressure.
In 1906, one oil refinery with two cubic meters was built in Fergana region. Oil was transported in a horse cart and its quality was determined using a thermometer and hydrometer. The main production products were lighting kerosene and heating oil. Gasoline was then burned in pits outside the factory, which was discovered to have been used only in Central Asia in 1915-1916, when cars with internal combustion engines appeared.
In 1972, the Mubarak gas processing plant, one of the largest plants in the world, was built in Kashkadarya region, and in 1980, the plant in Shortan was put into operation.
The republic's oil industry has the ability to fully satisfy the national economy's demand for oil. In particular, the Kokdumalak mine was put into operation at a rapid pace. 7 million in Uzbekistan in 1995. About t of oil and condensate were extracted. In 1991-2003, extraction of oil and gas condensate in Uzbekistan increased by 2.8 times (2.81 million tons in 1990; 7.9 million tons in 1997), and in 1995, it was necessary to end oil imports and ensure the oil independence of the republic. made it possible. By January 2001, oil was extracted from 59 fields in Uzbekistan, 17 fields were prepared for use and under conservation. 13 mines are under exploration. Uzbekistan-Malaysia Joint Venture (Uz-Maloyl) was established (1994) for oil production and prospecting. After Uzbekistan achieved oil independence, there was no need to import oil and oil products from abroad. In 2000, the oil industry of Uzbekistan produced 7.53 million tons of gas, including condensate. t of oil was extracted.
Oʻzbekistonda neft sanoatining rivojlanishi 1885-yilda boshlangan.1900-yilda Fargʻona vodiysidagi Chimion qishlogʻi yaqinidagi ikkita quduqdan qazib olingan. Bu hududda asosiy qidiruv ishlari 1904 yilda boshlanib, kuchli bosim ostida 270 m dan ortiq chuqurlikdan neft qazib olindi.
1906 yilda Farg'ona viloyatida ikkita kubometr quvvatga ega bitta neftni qayta ishlash zavodi qurildi. Neft ot aravada tashilgan va uning sifati termometr va gidrometr yordamida aniqlangan. Asosiy ishlab chiqarish mahsulotlari yorug'lik kerosini va isitish moyi edi. Keyinchalik benzin zavod tashqarisidagi chuqurlarda yondirilgan, u faqat O'rta Osiyoda 1915-1916 yillarda, ichki yonuv dvigatelli avtomobillar paydo bo'lgan paytda ishlatilganligi aniqlangan.
