Moreover, international organizations and development agencies have
conducted assessments and provided recommendations for green job creation and
sustainable development in Uzbekistan. Reports from the Asian Development Bank
(ADB, 2021) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP, 2020)
highlight the importance of integrating environmental considerations into national
policies and strategies to promote green employment and achieve sustainable
development goals.
Despite these efforts, several knowledge gaps persist in understanding the
dynamics of green job creation and sustainable development in Uzbekistan. Future
research should focus on assessing the effectiveness of policy interventions,
institutional frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives in advancing the green
economy agenda and addressing socio-economic disparities across regions (World
Bank, 2023; European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, 2024).
Additionally, there is a need for empirical studies that examine the socio-economic
and environmental co-benefits of green job initiatives at the local level and their
implications for inclusive and equitable development in Uzbekistan (International
Labour Organization, 2024).
This study employs a quantitative research design to analyze the correlation
between sustainable development and the share of green jobs across countries.
Specifically, the study examines existing statistics on sustainable development
rankings and the percentage of people employed in green jobs in the top 5 countries.
Existing statistics on sustainable development rankings and the percentage of
people employed in green jobs were obtained from reputable sources, such as
government agencies, international organizations, and research institutes. These
statistics provide comprehensive assessments of countries' sustainability
performance and labor market dynamics related to green industries and occupations.
The sustainable development rankings of the top 5 countries were sourced from
sustainable development goals report, while the percentage of people employed in
green jobs in each country was obtained from . These sources offer reliable and up-
to-date data on countries' sustainability indicators and labor market trends.
The correlation between sustainable development rankings and the share of
green jobs in the top 5 countries was analyzed using statistical methods, such as
Pearson's correlation coefficient. These statistical analyses help quantify the strength
and direction of the relationship between sustainable development and green job
employment.
By examining the correlation between sustainable development and the share
of green jobs, this study seeks to elucidate the role of green employment in
advancing sustainability goals. The findings will provide insights into the extent to
which countries with higher levels of sustainable development also tend to have a
greater proportion of their workforce employed in green industries and occupations.
In this section, author presents the findings of the study regarding the
correlation between Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) ranking and the
percentage of people employed in green jobs across the top 5 sustainably developed
countries.
