    2 Literature Review
In the second chapter, using the ideas and information obtained in this part as a
literature review, the results are analyzed and the structure of the textile system is
studied, as well as the impact of the updated system on the Uzbek textile industry,
the state's support factors for the textile industry in Uzbekistan, and it is consi-dered
that the internal structure of the textile business can become a brand as an entity in
continuous development through the formulated appropriate. In addition, the sector
is supported by studies of previous practitioners in the sector on the extent to which
government support is available and how it works in practice.
2.1 Background of the Uzbek Textile
Uzbekistan has been one of the most prominent cotton-growing countries since the
Soviet era (Khurana, Karan and Ataniyazova, 2020, p. 389-408). Apart from that,
the indicators of the development of the textile industry in the country are increasing
and there are many reasons for this, but one of them is the abundance of raw
materials. Uzbek light industry, particularly the textile sector, is a strategically
valuable as well as growing component of the national economy. Uzbekistan textile
industry ranks high in export-oriented industries, therefore it exports a wide range
of products, from thread up to finished goods (Madjidov, Shakhrukh, and Khakimov,
2012). Light industry is a crucial sector for the economy of Uzbekistan, generating
a high level of employment and contributing to our country's economic and industrial
worldwide reputation (Tukhtasinova, 2021, p. 190-201). The light industry of
Uzbekistan is growing every year. The introduction of novel manufacturing
techniques, the use of high-performance, contemporary equipment, and effective
management all contribute to increased worker productivity and industrial output
    volumes (Muydinova, 2023, p. 144-149).
Special attention is paid to the continued growth of the light industry textile sector in
Uzbekistan as a result of research by Kim, Yong-Jeong and Jaehun Park, which has
its place and importance in illuminating the textile industry and the relevance of
internal and external environmental factors in this field were emphasized. Since the

    Literature Review

study conducted was qualitative, a SWOT analysis was conducted and the need for
WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities) analysis and strategic avenues was highlighted
as the reason for the growth of the industry through the AHP evaluation system.
Apart from that, technological limitations related to the industry and high costs
arising in the import process, as well as the insufficient level of knowledge and skills
of employees in the industry are among the suggestions. According to the report, a
proposal was made to establish strategic cooperation with joint ventures and foreign
enterprises in order to switch from cotton raw materials to finished textile exports.
Considering the components of the SWOT analysis during the conducted research
as a result, despite the limitations that have arisen such as the limited AHP analysis,
it can meet foreign, joint venture and domestic textile companies in different
geographical regions. In addition, the analysis of cause-and-effect relationships
provides a sufficient basis for future research to conduct a series of situational
analysis (Kim, Yong-Jeong, and Park, 2019).
